Center Enamel: Leading EPC Contractor for Thailand Biogas Projects

Thailand has a well-developed agricultural, livestock, food processing and aquaculture industry across central plains, northern rural areas and southern coastal regions. The rapid expansion of cattle breeding, poultry farming, tapioca processing, fruit canning and aquaculture produces massive volumes of organic wastewater and livestock manure every day. Without standardized disposal, these waste streams cause severe odor pollution, soil degradation, groundwater contamination and rising greenhouse gas emissions.

These organic wastes are also ideal raw materials for clean biogas production. Major biogas feedstock sources in Thailand include livestock manure, agro-industrial wastewater, food processing effluent and agricultural crop residues. As Thailand tightens environmental regulations and accelerates renewable energy development, biogas projects have become a core solution for waste reduction, pollution control and circular economy development. As a global environmental engineering leader, Center Enamel acts as a professional Biogas Project EPC Contractor, adopting mature UASB Process, complete anaerobic technologies and high-performance GFS Tanks to deliver one-stop biogas solutions for Thai enterprises and farm owners.

Analysis of Biogas Generation Principles

Biogas production relies on anaerobic digestion, a natural biological process that decomposes organic matter in an oxygen-free environment to generate methane-rich biogas. Livestock manure, food processing wastewater and agricultural waste in Thailand are rich in cellulose, organic carbon and nitrogen, which serve as perfect substrates for anaerobic microorganisms.

The biogas generation includes four standard stages. Hydrolysis breaks down complex organics into small molecules like sugar and amino acids. Acidification converts these substances into volatile fatty acids, hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Acetogenesis transforms intermediate products into acetic acid, the direct precursor of methane. Methanogenesis finally generates biogas containing 55%–70% methane and 30%–45% carbon dioxide.

After anaerobic treatment, waste pathogens and odor are greatly reduced. The produced biogas can be used for factory power generation, heating and daily energy use, while digested residue turns into high-quality organic fertilizer. Thailand’s tropical monsoon climate maintains stable temperature all year round, supporting continuous and efficient anaerobic reaction and ensuring high economic benefits for local biogas projects.

Four Anaerobic Technologies for Thailand Biogas Projects

As an experienced Biogas Project EPC Contractor, Center Enamel provides four mature anaerobic technologies suitable for Thailand’s waste characteristics, project scales and tropical climate, among which UASB Process is highly popular for industrial and liquid wastewater treatment.

CSTR (Completely Stirred Tank Reactor): CSTR is suitable for large-scale intensive livestock farms with high-solid manure in Thailand. With mechanical stirring design, it realizes full mixing of raw materials, prevents crusting and sedimentation, and ensures continuous feeding and stable biogas output. It is widely used in large cattle and dairy farms nationwide.

USR (Upflow Solids Reactor): USR features simple structure and no mechanical stirring. It uses upward flow to retain sludge and organic particles, with low energy consumption and easy maintenance. It is ideal for medium-sized rural farms and decentralized breeding bases in remote areas of Thailand.

UASB Process (Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket): UASB Process is the most cost-effective and widely applied technology for liquid organic wastewater in Thailand, such as food processing wastewater, aquaculture sewage and diluted livestock wastewater. Wastewater flows upward through a dense sludge blanket for efficient organic degradation. It has high loading capacity, low operating cost and stable performance, becoming the preferred process for most industrial biogas projects in Thailand.

IC (Internal Circulation): IC is an advanced high-rate anaerobic technology driven by biogas internal circulation. Its treatment capacity is 3–5 times higher than traditional reactors, with compact footprint and excellent COD removal efficiency. It is the best choice for large-scale integrated biogas projects pursuing maximum energy recovery.

Biogas Project Supporting Equipment Supplied by Center Enamel

Center Enamel provides full-set reliable equipment customized for Thailand biogas projects, with GFS Tanks (Glass-Fused-to-Steel Tanks) as the core anaerobic digestion facility.

GFS Tanks are sintered at over 820°C, featuring full pH resistance from 1 to 14, strong corrosion resistance against manure, digestate and industrial wastewater. With excellent UV stability and seismic performance, GFS Tanks perfectly adapt to Thailand’s high temperature, high humidity and coastal saline environment. Bolted assembly supports fast installation and later expansion, with a service life of over 30 years and low maintenance costs.

Besides GFS Tanks, Center Enamel supplies double membrane gas holders for safe biogas storage with automatic pressure control and explosion protection. FBE tanks are used for wastewater equalization and pretreatment. Multiple tank roof options including air membrane roof, aluminum dome roof, sun panel roof and FRP roof adapt to Thailand’s rainy and windy tropical weather. Complete agitation, feeding, pumping and discharge systems ensure stable and efficient operation of the entire biogas plant.

Why Center Enamel Is the Preferred Biogas Project EPC Contractor

Center Enamel offers customized engineering design according to Thailand’s waste output, land conditions and energy demand. All core equipment adopts high anti-corrosion materials to adapt to local tropical climate. We provide full lifecycle EPC services covering design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and after-sales support, greatly reducing client investment risks. With strong R&D capability, international quality certifications and rich Southeast Asian project experience, we fully understand Thailand’s construction environment and environmental policies, ensuring smooth project delivery.

Center Enamel’s Installation Process

All components are factory prefabricated and inspected to guarantee stable quality. Hydraulic jacking top-down installation reduces scaffolding and crane usage. Bolted assembly replaces on-site welding, avoiding quality risks caused by Thailand’s high humidity and dusty construction conditions. The commissioning cycle is much shorter than concrete tanks, enabling early biogas production and faster investment return.
