Center Enamel: Leading EPC Contractor for Vietnam Biogas Projects

Vietnam boasts a thriving agricultural and livestock industry spreading across the Mekong Delta, Northern Highlands and Central coastal regions. Livestock breeding, aquaculture, agricultural cultivation and food processing generate huge volumes of livestock manure, aquaculture wastewater and organic waste every day. Without standardized disposal, these pollutants cause serious odor pollution, groundwater contamination, river eutrophication and excessive greenhouse gas emissions, posing great pressure on Vietnam’s ecological environment.

Treating organic waste through biogas projects brings remarkable advantages for Vietnam. It realizes harmless disposal, waste reduction and resource recycling simultaneously. Local abundant raw materials for biogas production mainly include cattle and poultry manure, aquaculture sludge, crop straw and food processing organic wastewater. As Vietnam strengthens environmental supervision and accelerates renewable energy development, biogas construction has become a key direction for green farming and rural circular economy. As a global environmental engineering leader, Center Enamel serves as a professional Biogas Project EPC Contractor, applying mature USR Process, complete anaerobic technologies and durable GFS Tanks to provide one-stop biogas turnkey solutions for Vietnamese rural farms and industrial enterprises.

Analysis of Biogas Generation Principles

Biogas production is based on anaerobic digestion, a natural biological process that decomposes organic matter in an oxygen-free environment to produce methane-rich biogas. Vietnam’s livestock manure and agricultural organic waste are rich in cellulose, organic carbon and nitrogen, which are ideal substrates for anaerobic microorganisms.

The biogas generation process consists of four stable stages. Hydrolysis breaks down complex organic substances into small molecules such as sugars and amino acids. Acidification converts small molecular organics into volatile fatty acids, hydrogen and carbon dioxide. Acetogenesis transforms intermediate products into acetic acid, the direct precursor of methane. Methanogenesis finally produces biogas containing 55%–70% methane and 30%–45% carbon dioxide.

After anaerobic treatment, pathogens and odor are effectively eliminated. The produced biogas can be used for power generation, heating and daily cooking, while digested residues are processed into high-quality organic fertilizer. Vietnam’s tropical and subtropical climate maintains mild and stable temperatures all year round, supporting continuous and efficient anaerobic reaction and making biogas projects highly efficient and economically viable.

Four Anaerobic Technologies for Vietnam Biogas Projects

As a professional Biogas Project EPC Contractor, Center Enamel provides four mature anaerobic technologies customized for Vietnam’s rural characteristics, waste properties and project scales, among which USR Process is especially suitable for Vietnam’s medium and scattered rural farms.

CSTR (Completely Stirred Tank Reactor): CSTR is suitable for large-scale intensive livestock farms with high-solid manure in Vietnam. Equipped with mechanical stirring devices, it ensures full mixing of raw materials, prevents crusting and sedimentation, and supports continuous feeding and stable biogas output. It is widely applied in large commercial cattle and poultry breeding bases.

USR Process (Upflow Solids Reactor): USR Process is perfectly tailored for medium-sized rural farms and remote scattered breeding sites in Vietnam. It adopts upward flow to retain sludge and organic particles without mechanical stirring. With simple structure, low energy consumption and easy maintenance, USR Process has low operation cost and is the most popular anaerobic technology for Vietnam rural biogas projects.

UASB (Upflow Anaerobic Sludge Blanket): UASB is a cost-effective technology for liquid organic wastewater such as food processing sewage and diluted aquaculture wastewater in Vietnam. Wastewater flows upward through a dense sludge blanket to achieve efficient organic degradation. It features high loading rate and stable operation, widely used in Vietnam industrial wastewater biogas treatment.

IC (Internal Circulation): IC is an advanced high-rate anaerobic technology driven by internal biogas circulation. Its processing capacity is 3–5 times higher than traditional reactors, with compact footprint and excellent COD removal efficiency. It is the preferred choice for large-scale integrated biogas projects in Vietnam pursuing maximum energy recovery.

Biogas Project Equipment Supplied by Center Enamel

Center Enamel provides complete supporting equipment for Vietnam biogas projects, with GFS Tanks (Glass-Fused-to-Steel Tanks) as the core of the anaerobic digestion system.

GFS Tanks are fused at over 820°C, featuring full pH resistance of 1–14, effectively resisting strong corrosion from manure and digestate. With excellent seismic resistance and UV stability, GFS Tanks perfectly adapt to Vietnam’s high temperature, high humidity and coastal saline environment. Bolted assembly enables fast installation and convenient later expansion, with a service life of more than 30 years and ultra-low maintenance cost.

In addition to GFS Tanks, Center Enamel supplies double membrane gas holders for safe biogas storage with automatic pressure control and explosion-proof performance. FBE tanks are used for wastewater equalization and pretreatment with cost-effective anti-corrosion ability. Multiple tank roof systems including air membrane roof, aluminum dome roof, sun panel roof and FRP roof can adapt to Vietnam’s rainy, windy tropical climate. Complete agitation, feeding, pumping and discharge supporting systems ensure stable and efficient operation of the entire biogas plant.

Overall Advantages & Installation Strength

Center Enamel provides customized engineering design according to Vietnam’s waste output, land conditions and energy demand. All core equipment adopts high anti-corrosion materials to adapt to local harsh tropical climate. We deliver full lifecycle EPC services including design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning and after-sales support, greatly reducing clients’ coordination difficulty and investment risks.

All components are factory prefabricated and strictly inspected. Hydraulic jacking top-down installation reduces the use of scaffolding and cranes. Bolted assembly replaces on-site welding, avoiding hidden dangers caused by Vietnam’s high humidity and dusty construction environment. The construction and commissioning cycle is far shorter than concrete tanks, realizing early biogas production and faster return on investment.
